Madisonville, KY - A contract debris removal worker was injured in Caldwell County Thursday morning when he was hit by a falling tree. 

The Kentucky Department of Highways report Don Russell of Fredonia was cutting a tree near the intersection of Frog Lane and Pleasant Hill Road in the Farmersville area of Caldwell County when the tree kicked out and hit him.

Russell was transported to the Regional Medial Center in Madisonville.  Russell underwent surger for an injury to his hip.
