Hopkinsville, KY - The Kentucky State Police of Post 2 in Madisonville investigated a single vehicle accident that occurred Tuesday at noon.  State Police report 59 year old Wilford Stewart of Hopkinsville was operating a 2008 Ford F750 southbound on North Greenville Road (KY 189) when his right side tires dropped off the roadway onto the right shoulder.  Stewart overcorrected and lost control of his vehicle.  The vehicle overturned.  The vehicle came to rest on its driver’s side in the northbound lane.  Stewart was trapped in the vehicle.  The Lacy Volunteer Fire Department had to extricate  Stewart from the vehicle.  Stewart was transported to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center by the Hopkinsville / Christian County EMS for treatment.  His passenger, 49 year old Michael Chapman of Crofton, was transported to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment by a personal vehicle.  Both men were wearing their seat belts.
