Repairs and Paving on Pennyrile and KY 109

PENNYRILE PARKEWAY NORTHBOUND 

Traffic on the Breathitt-Pennyrile parkway northbound ramp overpass leading to Us 41 at Exit 45 in Hopkins County will be restricted to one lane starting Wednesday.

The contractor will be replacing the bridge deck and making other repairs to the overpass.  The ramp overpass is located at the 45.199 mile marker on the north side of Madisonville.  Motorists should be aware of this lane restriction and use appropriate caution in the area.  Once work is complete on half of the bridge structure traffic will be shifted and crews will start wrok on the other lane.

Motorists should be alert for slowing and merging traffic as they take the ramp from the Pennyrile Parkway northbound lanes to US 41 at Exit 45.   Use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel will be on the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

This work is expected to take about a month, weather permitting
 
 
 
 KY 109 / RABBIT RIDGE ROAD IN HOPKINS COUNTY.
 

Paving work will begin on KY 109 / Rabbit Ridge Road in Hopkins County this weekend. 

The paving project runs 14.74 miles a the Clear Creek bridge northward to mile point 18.32 at the Hopkins - Webster County line.  This is the corner of Hopkins County between Rabbit Ridge community and Providence Kentucky.   Motorists who travel this section of KY 109 should expect to encounter one lane traffic through the work  zone with flaggers controlling traffic flow.  Minimal delays in traffic flow is expected with 1,500 vehicles on average on this section of KY 109 in an average day.  The paving project includes the KY 109 intersections with KY 291, KY 1034, and KY 814.

Motorists are asked to be alert for equipment, flaggers, and other construction personnel in the work zone and the project is expected to be completwe in about a week, weather permitting.
