Deer in Road Causes Single Vehicle Accident

Madisonville, KY – The Hopkins County Sheriff's Office investigated a single vehicle accident involving a deer on Sunday.

27 year old Michael O'Connor of Hopkinsville was traveling South on Hopkinsville road near Nortonville when he encountered a deer in the roadway. He swerved in an attempt to avoid hitting the animal exited the right side f the road, struck a sign post and then a tree. He and a passenger, 44 year old Steven Garabrandt, also of Hopkinsville, were transported to the Regional Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.

Deputy Bill Strader investigated the accident.
