Hopkins - Caldwell County KY -  KSP Troopers conducting traffic safety checkpoints with the Dawson Springs Police Department on US 62 at the Caldwell Hopkins County line Saturday night late detected the odor of anhydrous ammonia arresting two.

KSP Post 2 Trooper Rice initiated a search of the vehicle finding the components required to manufacture methamphetamine.  Mr. Weaver and Mr. Fain of Dawson Springs Kentucky were both arrested. 

Arrested were Casey Fain age 31 of Dawson Springs for manufacturing methamphetamine 2nd offense, knowing possession of anhydrous ammonia in an unapproved container with the intention to manufacture methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a meth precursor, and tampering with physical evidence.  Ms. Fain is now lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.

Robert Weaver age 28 of Dawson Springs was arrested for manufacturing methamphetamine 2nd offense, knowing possession of anhydrous ammonia in an unapproved container with the intention to manufacture methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a meth precursor, tampering with physical evidence, operating on a suspended license, failure to proudce insurance, obstructed vision - windshield, rear license not illuminated, and no seatbelt. Mr. Weaver has been lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.

Investigating Officer: Trooper Nick Rice, Unit 460 with assistance from Trooper Carlo Anderson, Unit 375, Dawson Springs Police Department, and Dawson Springs Fire Department.
