Hopkins County, KY - As a reminder, a contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has closed KY 70 / Central City Road at the Muhlenberg - Hopkins County line to repair the levy.
KY 70 is closed between the 0.0 and 1.0 mile marker in Muhlenberg County with work expected to take a month. The closure is to allow the contractor to drive sheet piling along the right of way to help stabilize an elevated section of roadway near the Pond River Bridge just east of the Muhlenberg - Hopkins County Line.
Motorists who regularly travel KY 70 / Central City Road between Madisonville and Central City should be aware of this closure and make advance alternate travel plans. A marked detour will be provided via KY 85, KY 81 and KY 181. Work at the site is expected to take about a month, weather permitting.
