Hopkins County, KY - Ariel Sauer age 18 of Dixon, KY was taken to Regional Medical Center following an accident that happened early Thursday morning.

According to Kentucky State Police, Ms. Sauer was heading eastbound on US 62, approximately 2.5 miles east of Dawson Springs. As Ms. Sauer was exiting a curve, her vehicle went sideways and crossed the westbound lane of travel. Ms. Sauer's vehicle then exited the westbound shoulder of the roadway, causing the front bumper of her vehicle to make contact with an embankment. Her vehicle then came to rest in a ditch off the westbound shoulder of the roadway.

A two vehicle accident on US 41 near Mannington resulted in 32 year old William Davenport III being taken to Regional Medical Center. State Police reports that Harold Cavanaugh age 47 of Mortons Gap, KY was headed southbound on US 41 driving a 1988 Ford Bronco II.  Mr. Davenport who was driving a 1994 Dodge Stealth was heading northbound on US 41.  The front right tire of Mr. Cavanaugh’s vehicle exited the right shoulder of the roadway, causing Mr. Cavanaugh to swerve back onto the roadway.  Mr. Cavanaugh then overcorrected, losing control of his vehicle and crossing into the northbound lane of travel. Mr. Cavanaugh’s vehicle then struck the left side of Mr. Davenport’s vehicle, causing Mr. Davenport’s vehicle to exit the northbound shoulder of the roadway.  Mr. Davenport's vehicle then traveled approximately 125 feet after leaving the roadway before coming to rest.  Following the collision, Mr. Cavanaugh’s vehicle spun one-hundred and eighty degrees, leaving the northbound shoulder of the roadway, and coming to rest off the northbound shoulder facing north.
