Madisonville, KY – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has started the fall litter pick-up and mowing along area parkways in Western Kentucky.
Keith Todd, Public Information Officer for Kentucky Department of Highways in Madisonville told iSurf News that contractors for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet have started mowing along US 231 near the Natcher Bridge in Daviess County. The mowers will move South on 231 and work westward around the US 60 Owensboro bypass, then across the Audubon Parkway from Owensboro to Henderson. The mowing and road cleaning crews will also work along the Pennyrile Parkway from Henderson to Madisonville and down through Hopkinsville.
A contractor is also starting work on the Western Kentucky Parkway in Lyon County and working toward the east.
Another contractor has already started mowing and litter pick-up along I-24 and Paducah and working eastward.
Motorist should use caution when approaching mowing zones in the work areas. Todd said motorist should slow down, be prepared to encounter mowing personnel, tractors, and support vehicles along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow. Mowing equipment may be required to cross travel lanes from time to time as crews go about their work.
Mowing and cleaning crews will be on the states parkways for approximately the next two weeks, weather permitting.
