Madisonville, KY – On Tuesday October 20th, iSurf News reported to Madisonville residents of a scheduled power interruption
to take place this morning at 7:30 AM from East Broadway to Scott Street. At around the same time this morning an unrelated power outage took place on the north end of town.
Jim Ashbury Electric Superintendent of Madisonville utilities states that at 7:34 am today a squirrel climbed onto a 12,000 volt line in a north substation knocking out power to most of North Madisonville for about 90 minutes. Also, at 7:59 am, birds knocked out power to the east substation affecting East Madisonville and some of downtown including City Hall. Workers remained busy throughout the day completing repairs from both locations.
The originally scheduled work to repair a broken utility pole has been put on hold and will be rescheduled for a later date.
