HOPKINS COUNTY, KY - A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to temporarily close the southbound lanes of the Breathitt-Pennyrile Parkway at Exit 6 in Hopkinsville on Tuesday, November 10, 2009.

Southbound lanes of the Pennyrile Parkway will be closed at approximately 1:00 p.m., CST, for about 30 minutes to allow a crane to erect a new overhead sign.  The closure will be at Exit 6 which is now the end of the parkway at the US 68 Hopkinsville Bypass/Eagle Way. Southbound traffic will detour via Exit 7 at US 41-A/Ft. Campbell Boulevard during the brief closure.

Motorists who regularly travel the Pennyrile Parkway southbound in Christian County should be aware of this temporary closure at Exit 6 scheduled for Tuesday afternoon. Police will be on site to assist with traffic control.
