HOPKINS COUNTY, KY - On Wednesday November 25, prisoner Eddie Joe Goodnight began the process of being transferred from a Minnesota jail to the Hopkins County jail. Goodnight is charged with
first degree burglary in relation to the recent murder/burglary case of Lynn and Mary Moore of Dawson Springs, Ky. As of early Thursday morning, Deputy Angie Peterson informed iSurf News that the transfer was successful and Goodnight is currently lodged in the Hopkins County Facility awaiting arraignment.
Hopkins County officials have openly stated that the case is not over yet. Dustin McKinney was charged with two counts of murder and one count of robbery first degree; and, upon return to Hopkins County, Goodnight was also charged with two counts of murder and one count of robbery first degree. Both men will have to appear in district court for a preliminary hearing which could be waived to the grand jury. While both men could face the death penalty, decision on final, specific penalty will be made by the justice system.
Sheriff Frank Latham informed press that the investigation as a whole is still ongoing and that there are other individuals that local law-enforcement may be able to link to this particular case. iSurf News willcontinue coverage of this case as new information becomes available.
