Amazing Turnout at Lincoln GOP Dinner

HOPKINS COUNTY, KY – Hopkins County Republicans met at the Ballard Convention Center Saturday evening for the annual Lincoln GOP Dinner. The turnout for the occasion was far beyond expectations with over 200 people attending to hear the largest number of local candidates in almost three decades. Another 195 individuals watched the evening ceremony via web cast.

The major themes for the evening seemed to be largely fiscal responsibility, coal, jobs, and conservative values. The evening began with Cara Holley performing a very moving rendition of the National Anthem and Tate Burris reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Madisonville Mayoral Candidate David Jackson did the opening Prayer.

The evening was emceed by Jesse Burris of Madisonville.Unfortunately, Congressman Ed Whitfield was snowed-in in Washington DC, so Michael Pape filled in his position speaking. Many people signed up to volunteer on local campaigns and many made donations.

The speakers for the evening were David Jackson, Jack Whitfield Jr., Ben Waide, Chris Toney, Shaun Roberts, Danny Byrum, Suzanne Henley, Rupert Furgerson, Todd P’Pool, Bill Johnson and Rand Paul. The Republican Party has asked iSurf News to thank Cara Holley for her wonderful job singing the Anthem and all those who showed up in support of the Hopkins County Republican party.
