Malkoff Gets Key to the City

Madisonville, KY - Comedian and filmmaker Mark Malkoff who frequently appears on "The Today Show", "Good Morning America",

"CBS Early Show", CNN, and Fox News was in Madisonville, Friday to be presented the key to the city by Mayor Will Cox.

Malkoff is currently doing a four-week video project sponsored by the Ford Motor Company featuring him traveling across the country seeing how many mayors he can get to present him their "Key to the City".

In order to earn the keys, Mayor Cox insisted that Malkoff “earn” them first.  In order to do this, the Mayor and the Madisonville Police Department had a task for him to perform.  Sgt. Robert Carter instructed him to clean the back of a K-9 Unit.  Patrolman Jerry Robards and K-9 “Rocky” seemed more than pleased to accommodate the comedian.

Mayor Will Cox stood by the cruiser as Malkoff climbed in the back with all the proper cleaning supplies.  After the mayor was satisfied that the cruiser was clean, Robards then handed him a brush and told him just how much Rocky enjoys being brushed.

Malkoff who up until recently worked on Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" is best known for his videos "171Starbucks" which documented his visits to all of the coffee chain's 171 Manhattan stores in a single day.  He also set a Guinness World Record by staying on a commercial airplane for an entire month to get over his fear of flying.

And, by the way, Mayor Cox did present him the key to the city.
