HOPKINS COUNTY, KY – According to a recent press release issued by the Kentucky Department for Public Health, the widely accessed public hotline set up by Kentucky Officials is now being closed
down due to a large decrease in calls. Apparently, the H1N1 virus is becoming less of an issue both on the medical front as well as with the concerns of the average individual.
The hotline was created in October of 2009, operated by Kosair Children’s Hospital out of Louisville, and has since received over 10,000 calls from people wanting to know various aspects of the H1N1 flu issue, such as what symptoms were, where vaccines could be accessed, and the current statistics of flu cases.
According to state officials, if necessary the hotline can be reactivated at a moments notice. If Kentucky citizens are still concerned about the H1N1 issue, they are encouraged to contact their local Health Department.
