HOPKINS COUNTY, KY – In what seems to be a never-ending chain of recalls from Toyota Motor Corporation, another announcement went out this week stating that over 400,000 more Toyota brand vehicles could have safety issues.
Apparently the problem this time around is with the popular Toyota Avalons. According to Toyota officials, there are issues with the steering lock bar, which could actually result in the steering wheel locking up on vehicles. As of yet, there are no injuries recorded from the problem, but Toyota is playing it safe by heading off the issue before it becomes a bigger problem.
Beyond the Avalon recall, almost 40,000 2003-2007 Lexus Luxury Model LX 470’s are also having steering issues and are being recalled.
This comes on the heels of the recent recall of Toyota Camry and Corolla brand vehicles due to gas pedals sticking. After a year of constant recalls from Toyota Manufacturing plants, the formerly most-popular vehicle brand in the world is really feeling the impact from a financial standpoint, with sales down and customer satisfaction going downhill fast.
If you own one of the aforementioned vehicles, it is very important that you contact your local Toyota dealer immediately for advice on what steps to take.
