HOPKINS COUNTY, KY – The Madisonville Fire Department fire report this past week are as follows:

On February 6, 2010 at 2:14 a.m. an alarm was  received from Central Dispatch at 02:14 for report of an Alarm Activation at 384 Thompson Ave. Upon arrival found nothing showing. Alarm panel indicated sprinkler flow in Zone 6. Crews searched building for signs of heat or smoke but found none. Zone 6 was determined to be sprinkler system at the main inside the structure. Signs of water leakage from the system were found. Occupant notified their alarm company to disable the alarm and called repair company to inspect sprinkler system. Occupant was notified to perform 15 minute fire watch checks due to system being offline. Scene was deemed safe and all units returned to station without incident at 3:01 a.m.

On February 6, 2010 at 8:10 p.m. an alarm was received from Central Dispatch for a fire alarm at 344 West Broadway. While responding Central advised Fire Command to signal eight per the alarm company. Alarm company had contacted home owner (Anthony Poe) and there was no fire, occupant had burned popcorn in microwave caused alarm activation. One engine company continued to the scene and confirmed with home owner that there was no fire. Scene was deemed safe, and unit returned to station at 10:20 p.m.

On February 7, 2010 at 3:42 p.m. the Madisonville Fire Department received an alarm from Central Dispatch for a Motor Vehicle Accident with injuries at 1771 S. Main Street, Madisonville Marketplace. Upon arrival fire crew found 2 vehicles involved with a total of 5 occupants. Crew assisted occupants until arrival of Medical Center Ambulance Service. All occupants refused treatment. Crew checked vehicles for any leaking fluids. No further action was taken. All units returned to station at 3:59 p.m.
